Glasses designed by Zbigniew Horbowy, made in the 1970s, probably in the Sudety glassworks.
Perfectly preserved, with no losses, chipping or scratches.
Well-chosen proportions please the eye and lie well in the hand. They will please every esthete.
A slightly thicker than usual base adds spice to the glasses. It’s not just the pleasure of drinking from them. It is also a pleasure to interact with beautiful glass. Blood red in color.
The set consists 5 glasses.
Zbigniew Horbowy (born 1935), one of the most outstanding Polish glass designers, graduated from the Wrocław Art School. For many years he worked as a designer in the Lower Silesian steel mills – the “Sudety” steelworks in Szczytna Śląska and the “Barbara” steelworks in Polanica-Zdrój. He was one of the first to boldly and determinedly attempt to introduce modern designs of vascular glasses to mass production. In the 1960s, the “antico” decorative glasses designed by Horbowy, which used the value of a mass of glass foamed with air bubbles, were particularly popular. As the artist emphasizes – form and color – these are two elements that have always fascinated him in designing.
